~ Mother's Day ~
When I used to go out and choose a mother’s day card
for my mom I would read it
and I would choose one that expressed
the sentiments my mother lived up too
or as close as I could possibly find.
But whatever sentiments we may have for our mothers,
God honors mothers for the crucial role they play.
Just becoming a mother is a blessing from God.
Many of the famous mothers of the Bible
did not conceive easily,
but their legacy continued
through the lives of their children.
Eve was called the “mother of all the living”
(Genesis 3:20).
Adam named his wife Eve,
because she would become
the mother of all the living.
Women like Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Leah,
Hannah, Ruth and Mary
are examples of honored mothers.
Deborah was called “a mother in Israel”
because she nurtured and guided an entire nation.
(Judges 5:7) “The song of Deborah” NIV
Village life in Israel ceased,
ceased until I Deborah, arose,
arose a mother in Israel.
Throughout the Bible,
God makes it perfectly clear that
we are to honor our mothers.
We are to recognize that our mothers are
the women through whom we came into the world,
and therefore, they are to be valued.
We are to listen to their teachings if they are godly women,
and we are to care for them when they are old.
When my mother was still with us
I remember little things I would do for her
that would please her very much
like brushing her hair,
she loved it and it made her relax,
I remember helping her with her baths,
she was so thankful.
My mother was very special to me
and I loved putting a smile on her delicate face.
I miss my mom,
but I have good memories
and she is still very much alive in my heart.
In Exodus 20:12, Proverbs 23:22, Matthew 19:19,
Ephesians 6:2,
we receive God’s blessings when we honor our parents.
To all the mothers here
I pray that you would have a blessed
and memorable day
and that God would bless you for being
the loving and caring parent that you are.
GOD BLESS!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
