Hear Me
You never turn Your back on me,
dear Lord.
I have called,
and You have answered.
At the same time
as I thank You
for the mercy You’ve shown me,
again,
I beg You to hear the petitions I bring to You.
I ask for so much from You,
sweet Jesus,
but You are the only One
who can give me what I seek.
I trust in Your mercy and love,
and my repetition of my requests
isn’t because I don’t trust You,
but rather because I don’t trust myself
to have always asked
in the right way.
I just did it again.
I didn’t trust that You would read my heart
and know my needs.
Dear Lord,
more than anything,
I need the presence of Your Spirit
in my soul
to increase my trust in You.
Will You accept the burden of my petitions,
Lord?
Will You watch over them
while I burrow deeper and deeper
into Your loving arms?
Please help me.
Please read my heart
and know what troubles me.
Please grant me the peace
of Your care.
