That Ye Might Have Life
Abundant life - the precious gift
You’ve given, Lord to me -
Shall I but lift the wrappings, then,
And merely look to see
What manner gift was given thus,
Then wrap and store away,
Hoarding against the greater need
Of some far distant day?
Oh, no, Lord - let me see and hear
And feel and taste and know
The full, rich goodness of this gift
Your bounty does bestow;
The joyous zest of living -
This gift You’ve given me -
Then let me laugh and love and live,
Dear Lord - abundantly!
