Christmas Miracle
With heavy heart I listened
As caroler’s sang out,
Rebelling at the words
Of peace and joy they sang about.
For me there was no peace, no joy,
No sense of Christmas cheer;
My saddened heart so filled with pain
And loneliness and fear.
And then, through tear-filled eyes I saw
The Christmas Star on high,
A star my tears had softened
To a cross there in the sky.
A cross - the symbol of God’s love,
Shone through my grief and loss,
Had I not known the tears,
I might have never seen the cross.
Miraculously then I felt
A sense of sweet release,
And, gratefully, my heart received
The wonder of His peace.
